Boycotting Target

I don’t think people are understanding the issues surrounding those who are boycotting Target.  Where there are those who are doing so because they do not want to support the GLBT, there are many who are simply afraid and desiring to protect women from sexual predators.  Lets look at the numbers:

  • 700,000 people in the USA identify as transgender
  • 805,781 registered sex offenders in the US
  • 268,000 rapes take place (and there is an estimated 68% of rapes that go unreported, so this figure could be substantially higher)
  • Statistics say 1 in 6 women will be raped.
  • Only ~2% of rapists are actually incarcerated, leaving the vast majority of rapists able to strike again.
  • The male population is approximately 161.7 million (50% of the approximate US population)
  • Some studies would suggest that 65% of transgender people are male, making the approximate figure 455K men are transgender.

Putting these numbers together, we can easily see that there are almost twice as many registered sex offenders than there are transgender males, with the number of true sexual offenders easily being enlarged by double because of the lack of prosecution against them (i.e. they are never registered).  So there is a substantially higher chance of a woman will encounter a sexual offender who will pose as a transgender person as to actually encountering someone who is transgender.  Even if accounting for the statistic the ~20% of rapes occur in public places (~53K), you are still at about a 12% chance that the man in the women’s restroom is there for evil.  Of course, none of this accounts for the number of perverts who get away with recording women peeing, and get their kicks out of being in such close proximity to women with their underwear down (which is chargeable in a court of law as peeping and perversion).  Further, no one is accounting for the fact that this now can give men license to enter the women’s restroom where law once kept their sins in restraint.  So what’s the chance of that man in the women’s restroom is truly transgender?  By the numbers and statistics, it would seem that he is more likely there under false pretenses and our women and children will be victimized.  Corporations, please start protecting our women and children instead of giving evil men license for sin.
